Our vacation rentals are near Rockport, TX located on the Texas coast on the Lamar Peninsula. We offer a tranquil setting on the Saint Charles Bay with a 520-foot fishing pier. We have 4 cottages for rent. We are located 8 miles from downtown Fulton and 11 miles from downtown Rockport. Enjoy your stay with trips to the Rockport Beach, visit the local art galleries, charter a fishing trip, go birding, take a dolphin sighting boat trip or simply relax in your cottage or on the 860 square foot deck on our lighted pier.

The cottages are conveniently located

  • Across the street from the Lamar public boat ramp making it the perfect spot for a fishing vacation.
  • Short drive away from Goose Island State Park where you can enjoy fishing and bird watching. \
  • A short walk away from The Big Tree which was named the State Champion Coastal Live Oak in 1966 and although it no longer holds the title it is still one of the biggest Live Oak trees in Texas.
  • Near the Copano Causeway wade fishing area and boat ramp.
  • Lamar also has great places to eat like Pop’s Tavern and Café where you can order delicious steaks, seafood, and burgers.

Stay a weekend or a week, Big Tree Cottages offer several options of accomodations:

  • The Mallard and Roseate Spoonbill Cottages are both 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with a full kitchen
  • Yellow Warbler Cottages are both a studio layout with an adjoining door. Yellow Warbler Cottage A has 2 double beds and Yellow Warbler Cottage B has a king-size bed. Each is available as an individual rental or can be booked together to provide more space for a family or group traveling together.

The Story of Big Tree Cottages

Big Tree Cottages were established many years ago as a hunting camp. After Hurricane Harvey in 2015 destroyed the original lodge and cottages, we constructed brand new cottages and pier.

Our location and relationships with local guides and outfitters will ensure you will have access to the best Rockport has to offer.
